in case you were wondering...

Stilettos help only marginally when walking in compact snow. The heel does tend to act as a built in ice-pick, but lack of traction and decreased balance detract from Overall Ice Navigation.

In fact, stilettos not only act as ice-picks in snow but they also aerate lawns!

jeni - haven't you seen my sassy boots? they're not hooker stilettos, but they're definitely perfect for otherwise mundane mornings in the archive

I echo jeni. and for the record, chunky heels aren't much better in snow.
